Jacksonville, Florida – E be like say prayer don ya don waistband! The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints don announce say dem go hold groundbreaking ceremony for di new Jacksonville Florida Temple on January 24, 2026. Dem go gather; but no be say everybody go fit just waka enter, na by invitation only o! (Hope say no go confuse the invitation with di one wey dem dey send for wedding wahala.)
Dis temple go be di fifth house of di Lord for Florida. Florida dey hold about 180,000 Latter-day Saints for around 280 congregations. So, e clear say plenty people dey expect dis sacred place wey go provide dem with spiritual refreshment like cold palm wine on a hot day.
President Russell M. Nelson don talk plenty about why dis temples dey important. According to am, “Di ordinances and covenants of di temple are of eternal significance.” E be like say dem wan make everybody sabi di value of temple once dem enter there. (Me I just dey wonder if dem go include wifi for di temple to make am complete.)
Di temple go get 29,000-square-feet for 6.6 acres stretch for 3323 Loretto Road, Jacksonville. Na for dis space dem go build am fit accommodate all di Latter-day Saints wey dey around, like say na a big community gathering wey never end!
Meanwhile, other temples dey under construction and renovation for di state. If you dey wonder where di other temples dey, na for Orlando and Palm Beach. Dem don already authorize plenty other temples for di country, so it clear say God get big plans to make di holy spirit fit waka freely among di people! (I dey see road for expansion – na only temple dey full di atmosphere.)
For people wey no too sabi wetin temple mean, lemme break am down: Na place wey people dey go make prayer, find peace, and learn about di joys wey di gospel bring. Just like how you dey find your way for New York traffic, God dey guide you make sure you sabi di right things inside di temple.
So, as di groundbreaking date dey approach, we go keep our eyes and ears open for all di updates wey go drop. Na sure say dem go dey tap their feet and sing songs when di first shovel don enter di ground! (You fit even hear di sweet joy like na for celebration wey we dey use celebrate birth for village.)
