IUO varsity tasks accounting students to boost financial sector

Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye, Vice Chancellor, Igbinedion University Okada (IUO), has advised students of the institution to boost interest in the study of accounting in order to improve the financial sector of the country.

Ezemonye gave the advice during a programme hosted by Association of the National Accountant of Nigeria (ANAN) on Tuesday in Okada.

He emphasized the need for a robust and improved financial sector to boost students interests in the study of accounting, as a profession in tertiary institutions in the country.

“Igbinedion University remains one of the best institution that have produced quality education in Nigeria. We are willing to partner with ANAN to improve learning and profession of accounting.

“We have been partnering with other groups to make sure we inject new academic knowledge to the university. We will support the intervention to improve the professional knowledge of  accounting,” Ezemonye.

Also speaking, President of the association, Prof. Muhammed Mainoma, reiterated commitment of the association towards expanding knowledge of accounting and promoting excellence in the discipline.

” We will do every thing possible that we can do to make sure we partner with IUO to improve accounting, this will ensure a better understanding in accounting in Nigeria,” he said.
