According to the ministry, 177 new cases were recorded on Saturday, compared to just 47 new recoveries.
This brings the total number of cases to 18,972, and the number of recoveries to 15,357.
The number of death cases remained 300, while the number of patients in serious condition increased from 34 to 35, out of 129 patients currently hospitalized.
Despite the rise in morbidity, the Israeli government has decided that starting Sunday, weddings and events to celebrate baby birth may be held in events halls.
These events will take place under restrictions, such as a maximum of 250 participants and keeping the participants list for possible epidemiological investigation.
