Islamic Revolution Guards Corps
An Iranian military chief said Tuesday that several people have been arrested for having contact with US intelligence services during recent unrest in the country.

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) deputy commander Ali Fadavi revealed the arrest during a meeting of IRGC medical unit commanders in Tehran, the semi-official Mehr news agency reported.

IRGC intelligence arrested several “spy agents” linked to US intelligence services during the recent riots and handed them over to judicial authorities, Fadavi said, adding that they acted as “network leaders of the enemy ” in the recent riots.

“These people were not only related to Iran International (TV channel), which operates under the espionage services of the enemy, but they were also related to the intelligence and espionage services of the United States,” Mehr said, quoted by Mehr.
The report did not give further details about the number and identity of the people arrested. ■
