Lafia, Feb. 16, 2019 (NNN) An intending couple in Nasarawa state, Gideon James and Rosemary William, said the postponement of the Presidential and National Assembly elections to Feb, 23 had affected their wedding.

They stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NNN) on Saturday in Lafia.

The would-be-couple, who disclosed that they had fixed their wedding for Feb, 23 and had shared invitation cards, said Feb, 23, being the new date for the election had thrown into confusion.

James and William said they initially wanted to fix their wedding on Feb.16, but scheduled it for Feb. 23 because of the election only for INEC to postpone the election and rescheduled it to coincide with their wedding day.

“All logistics arrangement for the wedding has been put in place, so, what do we do now? they asked.

They, therefore, urged government should consider the plight of the citizens before taken decision that affected them.

In similar vein, some residents of Kiubwa, a sate of Presidential and National Assembly elections by INEC.

They expressed their feeling in separate interview with a correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NNN) in Kubwa on Saturday.

Mr Steven Omoba, a rice dialer, said the postponement of the election had serious negative implication on his business.

“I left my house and business, today, to go and cast my vote for the candidates of the choice in the two elections, only to be told that the exercise has been postponed,“ he said.

James Audu, civil servant described the postponement as not-too- good for the political development of the country.

He, however, said that the postponement could be a blessing in disguise for the political development of Nigeria in a way.

Audu called on INEC to see the postponement as of the election as an opportunity to put its house in order for a better, credible, free, fair election that would be accepted by the majority of Nigerians.
