Igangan attack: Ooni advocates robust security measure

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II, called for improved security measures to protect the lives and property of citizens.

A statement issued Monday in Ile-Ife by Mr. Moses Olafare, director of media and public affairs, Ooni’s Palace, cites Ogunwusi as having made the appeal following Saturday night’s attack on the town of Igangan in Ibarapa Northern Local Government Area in Oyo State.

The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that the palace of the traditional leader of Igangan , a gas station, vehicles and a few houses were razed by the bandits who invaded the community while as many as 11 people were razed to the ground. been killed.

“There is no better time than now for robust security measures, because the security of the lives and property of Nigerians is the basis on which the government is constituted,” he said.

The traditional chief condemned the recent midnight attack in which many lives and properties were lost,

He described the attack as evil and provocative, noting that such a despicable act should not be allowed to continue so as not to ruin Nigeria‘s unity and prosperity.

“Such an attack in which the victims have credibly tracked down some perpetrators from a particular part of the country is capable of disintegrating this country.

“That is why those behind must be kicked out of their jungle and treated accordingly,” he said.

The Ooni added that such an invasion was the height of crime which must not go without serious consequences for the perpetrators. (NOPE)
