How to Train Your Dragon: Live-Action Wey Don Land, E No Blow Pass

CHICAGO – Dis weekend, dem go release live-action remake of beloved 2010 animated film, How to Train Your Dragon. E dey waka come with plenty buzz and fans don dey expect wetin go happen.

Di film carry story of young viking, Hiccup, wey find friendship with dragon, Toothless. Dis time around, Mason Thames dey play di lead role, and believe me, e dey try for di character. As dem don show di first touch scene wey Hiccup and Toothless go share, Thames don talk how e dey excited but scary too.

“Dis scene na one of di most iconic for animated movie history. I dey fear say I go miss am, but also, e dey sweet like sugar,” Thames talk with smile.

But no be all good news o! Critics don dey point fingers say di new version too similar to di original. Some people even dey ask, “Why we go need dis remake when di cartoon still dey fresh for memory?” (E be like saying dem just dey recycle old movie wey we sabi too well.)

Di new film no really put any major twist dey follow di original, and dat one dey cause some pipo to dey scratch their heads. Though, dem don add some extra 25 minutes, but we fit agree say di film fit sometimes dey drag for di first half. Too slow for our liking!

Notwithstanding, eh, di second half pack plenty action wey go make your heart dey race, and di emotional jam dey sweet too! You no fit watch am without feeling something inside, especially with Mason Thames and Gerard Butler as Stoick. Na dem two irony plenty. Gerard dey embody di bombastic nature of Stoick, e fit make you almost forget say e na animated role before.

Mason Thames talk about how special e don feel to bring Hiccup to life: “Dis character na my childhood, I just wan make di fans happy.” (Na serious level, e b like say di boy dey wear di entire pressure of di fandom on him shoulders!).

Asturally, Toothless, di dragon everybody dey crazily fall for, no really change but E dey carry di same cartoon vibes. Dem change di other dragons to look more realistic, but for Toothless, na so dem leave am like original. Na di kinda thing wey dey cause di audience to feel say e no fit blend well with di live-action world.

How to Train Your Dragon still be one big love letter to di original franchise, but sometimes, e dey feel like dem just dey rake in di cash (like say money na di only motivation wey dey push dem). Even though di film fit drop some vibes, we fit still recognize how e dey entertain kids and adults. So, Jibiti, if you love di first movie, you go still enjoy dis one even if e no dey reach di same height.
