A 20-year old herder, Sule Umar, on Tuesday appeared a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Makurdi for allegedly violating the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law of Benue State, 2017.

Umar, who lives in Shingle Village, Lafia of Nasarawa State, is charged under Section 19 of the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law of Benue, 2017.

The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Hyacinth Gbakor, told the court that the State Commander of Livestock Guard, Mr Linus Zaki and his team arrested the defendant on June 26.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge against him.
