yle=”font-weight: 400″>Senate Chief Whip Orji Kalu has said he will handle the Super Eagles better than his current coach Gernot Rohr following the disappointing 1-1 draw the team played with the Cape Blue Sharks -Green.
The result also saw the Super Eagles top their group with 13 points, while Cape Verde finished second with 11 points.
But Mr Kalu, in an interview with the Nigerian News Agency, said the coach was as good as his last game and that Rohr, for not having had any tactics in the game, should be sacked.
“Gernot Rohr is not a motivator for the players because he has nothing to offer; I can even motivate the players more than him because I am a great motivator of my players.
“He’s not a coach; I don’t see anything good in him; he has no stamina, no strategy, he doesn’t play any system and his team doesn’t excite me, ”he said.
According to Mr. Kalu, he will prefer a local coach for the Super Eagles once he is well paid and allowed to do his job.
“It doesn’t matter where the coach comes from. We have a lot of Nigerian coaches who, if you pay them their due, will do the job well.
“If he has any doubts, he should consult me and I will tell him some names of coaches he can approach, whether local or international.
“If you ask me, I would prefer a Nigerian to coach the Super Eagles, but he should be well paid and have an international level schedule to function.
Mr. Kalu had called Thursday, via his social network, the NFF to find a replacement for Mr. Rohr, because he had not met the expectations of Nigerian sports fans.
The African sports mainstay also said he refused to employ Rohr as Enyimba’s coach in 2003 when he was governor of Abia because he lacked the qualities of a coach.
