Adeyemi said the topic was carefully chosen to reflect developments, adding that the topic of leadership in Nigeria can never be overemphasized.

“We are here once again to unbundle our basket of activities for the holy month of Ramadan. One of the contents of the basket is the award-winning feeding program.

“We will feed more than 2,000 people with a three-course meal a day. It is not a mistake that I use the word people and not fasting Muslims.

“Because over the years, not only Muslims have benefited from the program, non-Muslims are welcomed with open hands without discrimination,” he said.

Adeyemi said that in addition to the daily feeding program, raw food would also be distributed to the destitute, adding that on Sallah day, the society also has another program to feed the destitute.

He said that everyone who would come to the Eid prayer would receive a two-course meal package.”

He revealed that the society would use the Ramadan period to offer prayers for the nation as the 2023 general election approaches.

Guest speaker Professor Taofiq Abdul-Azeez urged leaders at all levels to fear almighty Allah, adding that if a leader fears God, he will be merciful to the people.

He also said that a God-fearing leader would show conscientiousness and insist on the general good of the people and would be interested in how people live.

He added that a good leader would not only be interested in policies on paper, but also in the implementation of policies.

“A good leader wants to know who is laughing, who is crying, who is happy, who is sad.

“He is aware of the fact that Almighty God will ask him about the effect of his leadership on the lives of people in general,” he said.
