More than 70 gymnasts are expected to attend the 2021 Tony International Gymnastics (TIG) summer camp which kicks off Monday in Abuja.

Tony Asuquo, coach and founder of the club, informed the Nigerian News Agency (NAN) on Saturday in Abuja.

According to him, the five-week campsite will also prepare the expected gymnasts to compete in the Boston International Cup competition in the United States.

Asuquo also told NAN that gymnasts from Kano and Lagos states have expressed interest in attending the summer camp.

“Right now, we have over 70 registrations for summer camp. We also have gymnasts from Kano and Lagos who will be part of this year’s edition.

“Children would learn gymnastics, skating, ballet, swimming, the creative arts, fitness, dance and more.

“The summer camp is also a preparation for the 12 TIG gymnasts who will participate in the Boston competition in August.

“This camp will keep the kids busy during the holidays and help them learn new skills,” Asuquo said.

NAN reports that the camp is scheduled to start on July 18 and end on August 28 at Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

The Boston International Cup is scheduled to start on August 21 and end on August 31. (NOPE)
