Group backs FG’s efforts to tackle oil thieves

One lobby group, Kungiyyar Mutanen Arewa, praised the federal government’s efforts to plug all avenues Nigerians use to steal Nigeria’s oil wealth.

The group said in a statement made available to the Nigerian News Agency on Sunday in Abuja that the efforts of the military and the company responsible for monitoring the pipelines have so far yielded positive results.

The communiqué was signed by Gobirawa, its Secretary General and Secretary of Organization, respectively.
He said the government should not be distracted from any individual or group until it completely eliminates the oil thieves.
Tantita Security Services Ltd
The group particularly praised Tantita Security Services Ltd, which is in charge of pipeline surveillance, for “championing for the timely and promising and instructive exit from the business-as-usual syndrome among Nigerians.”
According to the group, the recent convening of a commission of inquiry into the theft of oil from former diplomats is a distraction and an attempt to divert those who are checkmating the threat.
Tantita Security Services
In particular, he praised Tantita Security Services, headed by Tompolo, for continuing to “exalt the national interest over quick fixes for material gain.”

Kungiyyar Mutanen Arewa said Nigerians have a civic obligation to help the government and the surveillance company with the necessary information on oil thieves and other economic spoilers.
He said that Nigerians should also avoid those who follow the path of treason, to restore normality in the production and supply of crude oil.
Group Director General of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Ltd
The organization advised Group Director General of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Ltd, Mele Kyari, to continue to checkmate the blatant oil theft in the Niger Delta, including the existence of illegal refineries.
Kungiyyar Mutanen Arewa
The Kungiyyar Mutanen Arewa pledged his full support for the government as it takes steps to expose those behind the oil theft in the country.
