Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa

Adamawa Governor Ahmadu Fintiri approves the dissolution of the board of directors of Adamawa United Football Club.

Adamawa Governor Ahmadu Fintiri approved the dissolution of the board of directors of Adamawa United Football Club.

This is contained in a statement from Wonosikou, the governor’s press secretary on Tuesday in Yola.

Fintiri praised the management for working hard to get the club to where it is today.

He said the disbandment was to allow for fresh blood and the latest techniques, as well as to revitalize and restore the club’s lost glory.

“The state government will not allow the club to go down, but it will make sure it consolidates with the earnings so far.” Fintiri was quoted as saying in the statement.

The Governor thanked the leadership team for agreeing to serve in that capacity and contributing to the growth of the sport in the state.

The statement said the dissolution had immediate effect and ordered affected officials to turn over the property and government documents to the state Sports Ministry (www.news.com).
