Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Ghana’s Minister of Energy, has been confirmed as a VIP speaker at the upcoming MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2021 Conference and Exhibition, which will take place in Dakar, Senegal, from December 16-17, 2021; Among other African ministers, Hon. Dr. Prempeh will come to Senegal to discuss regional collaboration, the role of natural gas and gas monetization, and strategies to secure investment in 2021 and beyond; Organized by Energy Capital & Power (EnergyCapitalPower.com), under the patronage of HE Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal, and in association with the Ministry of Oil and Energy, MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2021 unites the regional industry and international players in Senegal for two days of networking and dialogue.

The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has been confirmed as a VIP speaker at the upcoming MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2021 Conference and Exhibition which will take place December 16-17, 2021 at the Center International de Conférence Abdou Diouf (CICAD) in Diamniadio, Senegal.

With extensive experience in a variety of sectors, Hon. Dr. Prempeh will be a valuable participant in the regional focus conference. In particular, the Minister served as Minister of Education from 2014 to 2021 before being appointed Minister of Energy. Hon. Dr Prempeh trained as a physician and was a Fellow of the UK Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons from 1999 to 2003, before serving as Chief Executive Officer of Keyedmap Security Services Limited from 2004 to 2009. He studied Biology and Human Medicine at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana, and completed postgraduate studies at the Netherlands Institute of Health Sciences and the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Despite having been Minister of Energy for a relatively short period of time, His Excellency. Dr. Prempeh has been instrumental in expanding Ghana’s energy sector, increasing private sector participation in key projects and establishing a globally competitive natural gas sector. At MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2021, Hon. Dr. Prempeh will promote natural gas and investment while emphasizing the role regional cooperation will play in Africa’s energy future.
