GAUTENG, South Africa, January 11, 2022 / APO Group / –

The presidents of the Gauteng Provincial Legislatures (GPL) will visit various Gauteng schools from Wednesday 12 January 2022 as part of the institution’s School Readiness Program for next year.

The initiative is part of GPL’s oversight mandate over the work of the Executive Authority in the Province where the Presidents interact with the school administration to identify critical areas for prompt Executive intervention.

The program is also used to raise awareness about the mandate of the Provincial Legislature and to promote the right to education of children and the role of parents in supporting and strengthening the educational system.

The presidents will donate educational support materials to the various identified schools, based on their needs. Additionally, the generosity of the Chinese Consulate will allow the President and Vice President to make additional special donations to Siyabonga High School and Kensington High School.

Members of the media are invited to take part in this program, see attached. For the full schedule of the schools the presidents will visit through January 25, 2022, visit www.gpl.gov.za (https://www.gpl.gov.za/speakers-school-outreach-2022/) .
