The police on Monday arraigned a gardener, Agadi Danladi, at a Grade I Area Court in Mpape, Abuja, for allegedly breaking into and attempting to steal items from an Estate store.
The Prosecution Counsel, Mr M.M. Austin, told the court that on Jan. 2, Danladi, 41, and who lives at Mabushi area of Abuja allegedly broke into a Wiser Estate Store, Mabushi, with the intention to steal.
Austin said the defendant was caught and arrested inside the store.
He said that the complainant, Isaac Jonathan, reported the case at Mabushi Police Station on the same date.
The prosecutor added that the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 347 and 95 of the Penal Code.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The judge, Salihu Ibrahim, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in the like sum.
He adjourned the case until Jan. 29 for hearing.
