The Gambia Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, as well as the Gambia National Petroleum Company, have been confirmed as strategic government partners for the upcoming MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2021 conference and exhibition; Delegations from the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy and the Gambia National Petroleum Company confirmed that they would speak at the event; Organized by Energy Capital & Power (www.EnergyCapitalPower.com), the MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2021 conference and exhibition will take place in Dakar on December 2-3, 2021.

The Gambia Ministry of Petroleum and Energy and The Gambia National Petroleum Company (GNPC) have been confirmed as strategic government partners and speakers for the upcoming MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2021 Conference and Exhibition, hosted by Energy Capital & Power, to be held in Dakar on December 2-3, 2021.

Under the leadership of HE Fafa Sanyang, Minister of Petroleum and Energy, the development of regional partnerships and investment in all facets of The Gambia’s energy sectors – including oil and gas, renewables and the power sector – have seen increased activity and growth.

The ministry has actively encouraged oil exploration activities by creating a political framework that is both stable and investor friendly. A key element of the strategy put in place by The Gambia for the expansion of the hydrocarbon sector is to encourage the private sector to participate in the development of the sector through various means, including the construction of relevant infrastructure for oil and gas. liquid petroleum (LPG) as mandatory.

Official speakers from the Gambian delegation will include Lamim Camara, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, and Jarreh Barrow, Petroleum Commissioner; with GNPC stakeholders including Yaya Barrow, Managing Director, GNPC and Cany Jobe, Exploration and Production Director, GNPC.

An ambitious offshore and onshore hydrocarbon exploration campaign is underway in The Gambia with the participation of regional oil and gas companies and international oil companies (IOCs).

The Gambia seeks to emulate the success of major discoveries that took place in 2014-2016 in other countries of the MSGBC basin such as Senegal and Mauritania, and to expand on-going exploration and production programs. There are two onshore blocks and six offshore blocks. A4 block is licensed to Petronor, while A2 and A5 blocks are licensed to FAR and Petronor JV. A1, which was licensed to BP, is now in the market seeking investors.

In order to accelerate the pace of development of the hydrocarbon sector in The Gambia, GNPC representatives seek to develop regional alliances to promote greater cooperation in the energy sector and attract new foreign investment in the sector. The MSGBC basin is currently one of the most exciting oil border areas in West Africa.

The upcoming MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2021 Conference and Exhibition is the main platform where representatives from The Gambia will have the opportunity to network with global energy stakeholders, forging new partnerships and improving business. sectoral.
