Sir Chuks Igboanua, Transition Chairman of Idemili north Local Government Area (LGA), has commended the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for its decision to install an area command office in Anambra State.

This statement was made during an official visit to the council headquarters at Ogidi.

The Deputy Corps Commander in charge of the LGA station office, Mrs G.

Omeke, was present to brief the Chairman on the decision made to create two area commands in every Nigerian state.

Mrs Omeke explained that this differs from the twelve zonal offices that are already in place and supervise 725 unit commands with station offices.

She also pointed out that Idemili north LGA was considered highly due to the statistical data and indices gathered.

The Transition Chairman was thanked for allowing Mrs Omeke and her team to interact with him.

This move is a part of the new Corps Marshal Dauda Ali’s decision to expand the FRSC office.

It is intended for the 36 states of the Federation to have their own area command offices.

The Chairman’s commendation of the move reflects his support for the expansion of the FRSC office, thereby indicating the possibility of a safer and more secure network of roads in Anambra State.
