Foundation inaugurates 13 unit toilets in FCT school

By Ibironke Ariyo

Domak Global Foundation President Dr Kingsley Azonobi on Tuesday inaugurated 13 toilet units for Tudunwada Government Secondary School (GSS), Abuja.

Speaking at the inauguration in Abuja, Azonobi said he took it upon himself to make sure there was adequate comfort for students, especially women.

Azonobi, a former GSS Tudunwada class student of 97, added that the passion for building the toilet came when he visited the school to see some of the challenges of the school.

According to him, I became a student of this school in 1991 and graduated in 1997. I visited the school and saw that so many things were wrong.

“The main challenge that I saw in the environment was the toilets and I discovered that there are no single toilets in the school and for a population of around 1000 students and more it has become worrying. .

“I took it with me and chatted with my set and they gave permission to continue with the project. It was not easy to carry out the project because I am only a private worker and not in the public sector.

“But it’s just the passion to build toilets especially for female students. I could imagine what female students go through when they try to find convenience for themselves, ”he said.

Azonobi advised the school to allow investors to come to the school to invest as it is in the heart of Abuja, urging them to revive the FCT public schools as well.

He said “because the inability of public schools to be reactivated makes private schools appear to be the solution.

“The private school is not the solution, but the public school itself. I want to advise the government to invest more money in education and student welfare like what we are doing today, ”he said.

The Executive Chairman of the Board of Secondary Education (SEB), Mr. Yahaya Muhammad, praised the efforts of the Chairman of the Domak Global Foundation and the entire 1997 for the project.

Muhammad said that the CTF is a mini Nigeria as well as the schools in the territory, pointing out that no government organization or institution brings Nigerians together like schools.

“We thank Minister FCT whose vision brought about this transformation that we are now seeing in FCT schools.

“Overall, the convenience issues in our schools are indeed a very difficult situation. Today our brother, a product of this school, decided to give us this structure.

“In fact, I couldn’t help but pass the structure on to the minister who immediately ordered the letter of recommendation to be sent to you,” he said.

Principal GSS Tudunwada Mr. Akor Sunday said the project was a big one he was eager to unveil.

According to him, this convenience has been returned to the school and it is our prayer to keep it in good use of the environment.

“And at the same time, we look forward to our former students who at any time let them come back and do something for the school, especially for the school hall.

“The school hall does not represent the beauty of the school at all. I appreciate the chairman of the board, the Domak Global Foundation and the whole of 1997, ”he said. (NAA)
