Football stars’ stalker faces jail time

A woman, Orla Sloan, who stalked three Premier League players has been warned that she could face prison when sentenced on June 20, by District Judge Neeta Minhas. Sloan met Chelsea and England’s midfielder Mason Mount, along with Leicester City and England’s left-back Ben Chilwell, and Chelsea and Scotland’s midfielder Billy Gilmour at a party in London, after Chilwell invited a friend via an Instagram message. Though she only slept with Mount once, she continued to message him for over six months and bombarded him with messages from different numbers, going as far as to make false claims of pregnancy by the midfield star. Sloan was also accused of sending Chilwell, and Gilmour messages.

In response to the situation, Chelsea put extra security measures in place for Gilmour, while Mount and Chilwell expressed concern for their safety and privacy. In a statement read to the court, Mount said, “She knows where I live and where I train. I’m worried as she is unable to contact me she might turn up at my training centre.” Sloan, who admitted one count of harassment without violence in relation to Chilwell and two counts of stalking relating to Mount and Gilmour, may face jail time for the offenses, warned the judge. The starting point for one offense crosses the custody threshold, and it was targeting of three different people.
