Food Security: Int’l company supports Nigerian agriculture business
An international technical supply company, C. Woermann Nigeria, has said that it will supply high-quality agricultural equipment to farmers and factory automation systems for food production in the country.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Okunowski, managing director of C. Woermann Nigeria, said the company made the decision when it showed up at the just-concluded Agrofood Nigeria 2022.

The fair, which was the seventh in the Agrofood & Plastprintpack Nigeria series, took place from March 22-24 and was organized by trade fair specialists, Fairtrade GmbH.

Agrofood Nigeria 2022 featured global technology leaders from 15 countries showcasing technologies and solutions tailored for the Nigerian and West African markets in agriculture, food and beverage processing, ingredients, plastics, printing and packaging.

Okunowski reiterated that the company is eager to support the food security of the country and boost the agricultural and food processing business in the country.
Business Incubation Platform
“An example of this is our ongoing partnership with the Business Incubation Platform (BiP) of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in conjunction with STIHL to bring mechanized agriculture closer to local farmers.
“We are making these farm tools and equipment because we believe it will go a long way in supporting Nigeria’s food security campaign,” he said.

According to Okunowski, the company has worked over the years in synergy with Nigerian companies and its partners STIHL GmbH to promote mechanized agriculture that is easily accessible to farmers.
He said that C. Woermann used the opportunity of the exhibition to interact with partners, customers and other stakeholders in the agricultural, food processing and manufacturing value chain to support the industrialization and supply of genuine and quality products in the country.
