The Nigerian government don show sympathy for the victims. Mohammed Idris, wey be the Minister of Information and National Orientation talk say dem don direct all emergency agencies to help with search and rescue. This one no be small matter o! People dey still dey miss, and the search still dey go on.

We fit hear from a local fisherman, Danjuma Shaba, wey don lose him house. “I no get house to sleep,” he talk. The rainy season dey kick off and it dey carry flood everywhere, as usual. Dis matter no just dey happen for Mokwa alone; last year, heavy rainfall don cause similar wahala for many places for northern Nigeria.

Last year na about 1.3 million people run for their houses plus over 600 deaths wey follow flood. E don be like say we dey enter another season of worry as government don talk say 15 states dey expect heavy downpour. Na wetin we go hear again?

Bad news no dey ever stop for here, and we dey pray say the search and rescue teams go do their best to find more survivors.
