The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that the President of Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, and his Jigawa State counterpart, Alhaji Badaru Abubakar , also paid a visit of solidarity and sympathy to Governor Bagudu. .

Bagudu assured that other governors and stakeholders would join him in the ongoing search operations for the abducted students and school staff.

According to him, he will discuss with his colleagues and the security agencies in this direction, so as not to compromise the laudable operations underway to rescue the students and the staff kidnapped.

He said, “But, we will go there and as I promised, the day we move, I will not be in the office because we will meet you in the field.

The governor of Kebbi State said this would be done without any consequences in an effort to save the abductees.

Bagudu argued that: “It is not the guns that win wars, but it is the will that the wicked cannot triumph and we will show that we have enough will.

“President Muhammadu Buhari and the security agencies have done their best with limited resources.

“But, we also have to mobilize, equip ourselves and confront these bandits. Our various scriptures as Muslims and Christians allow us to put our lives on the line to defend our honor, property and beliefs.

“In what the bandits are doing, they challenged us all, so we can’t let them. “

Bagudu asked the hunters to return and mobilize fully, while waiting for him to obtain the necessary authorization from the security agencies, adding: “we will meet on the ground”.

The governor argued that governors were not sworn in just to sit at desks and work.

He said they were aware that one day they would be called upon to lead in the field, even if they were not military or police.

He said that while hundreds of thousands of people can be mobilized during the campaigns, the same must be done now to join the research group.

He said: “What happened at Birnin Yauri should be the last straw. We should follow these bandits wherever they are and confront them.

Bagudu also described the kidnapping as very ruthless, although he praised the security agencies, the school administration, ‘Yan Sakai and the vigilantes for their heroic efforts since the bandits hit the college.

The governor also tasked local hunters and vigilantes to pursue the bandits, annihilate them and bring back the schoolchildren.

“We know that as local hunter leaders you will fight them in the bush and defeat them.

“Whatever you can do to make this the last in Kebbi, please make the effort,” he instructed the hunters.

The NGF President also conveyed President Muhammad Buhari’s message of sympathy to the people of Kebbi State, expressing how deeply the President is concerned about the Birnin Yauri incident.

Similarly, Jigawa State Governor Badaru Abubakar praised the zeal and eagerness of local hunters and vigilantes to assist in the rescue operation.

He instructed them to confront the captors with all their arsenal until they were no more.

Earlier, the leaders of the local hunters told the governor that they were ready to join the fight against the bandits until the schoolchildren were all rescued.

Gwandu Emirate’s chief hunter Hassan Muhammad Sarkin Dajin Sarkin Gwandu told Governor Bagudu they were at Government House to show solidarity with the rescue efforts and join security officials in the fight against bandits.

According to him, they have no fear of confronting the bandits to save the schoolchildren but have said they need the support of the government.

He said, “We have no fear of going into any bush, we have our magical skills but we will not disclose them here until we are in the bush.

Likewise, other leaders of the local hunters of Argungu and Augie reaffirmed their willingness to lend a hand to the rescue operation.

“Our local hunters would join the operation because they are also willing to sacrifice their lives for the mission to be successful.”

They requested logistical assistance from the government for their members and vigilantes.

Alhaji Sani Hukuma Zauro, one of the elders of the hunters, is full of praise for Governor Bagudu.

“We are in solidarity with Governor Bagudu, we are aware of his rapid intervention and the positive results recorded so far in the rescue operation,” he said.
