A Commission spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement Thursday in Abuja, said Adekeye’s labor pains began when she arrived at the commission’s Lagos office to obtain bail from a suspected scam artist.
“The suspect on January 11, 2022, posed as a lawyer to secure bail for an alleged fraudster who is in the custody of the commission in Lagos.
“A search of his residence also uncovered several forged documents dating back to 2005, including forged documents from Lagos State University and the Kwara State College of Education.
He also claimed to be the owner of “AA Emmanuel & Co. Chambers,” which he had been using to perpetrate fraud until his arrest.
“He will soon be prosecuted in court,” Uwujaren said.
He said the commission would ensure that imposters who use false documents to obtain bail for suspects face the wrath of the law.
