Exercise Enduring Peace recording successes in FCT – Army

The Nigerian Army says that the ongoing Enduring Peace Exercise taking place within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and similar exercises taking place across the country are registering tremendous successes.

The Chief of the Monitoring and Evaluation Team of the Army Headquarters, Major General. Olusegun Adesina stated this when he led the team of senior officers visiting the Forward Operating Base in FCT’s Kwali Area Council on Tuesday.

The Deputy Director of the Army Public Relations Guards Brigade, Captain Godfrey Abakpa, revealed this in a statement in Abuja.

Adesina said the exercises were key to achieving a safe and peaceful environment where socio-economic activities would flourish.

He said the visit was to determine the level of progress made in the current exercise at and around the FCT.

He said that much progress had been made since the beginning of the exercise in support of the Army Chief of Staff’s zeal to create a safe environment for all Nigerians.

According to him, the military hierarchy is particularly impressed with the rescue of high-level professors from Abuja University and other victims of the Brigade, in addition to various other rescue operations carried out to secure the FCT.

Adesina praised the efforts of the Guards Brigade which, it said, helped stabilize the general area from the activities of kidnappers and other criminal elements.

He urged the brigade to maintain the existing synergy with other security agencies such as the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), as well as the Nigerian Police, adding that no agency Security alone could win the war on terror. only.

He also implored the Brigade to continue working towards achieving the COAS vision of “having a professional Nigerian Army ready to fulfill the assigned mission within a joint Nigerian defense environment.”

Responding, the Commander of Guard Battalion 176, Lieutenant Colonel. Kolawole Adisa, assured the team of the readiness of the troops to continue carrying out their assigned tasks with diligence and in accordance with the rules of engagement.

Adisa added that the brigade was committed to the defense and security of the Federal Capital from criminals.

He also reiterated the readiness of the troops to work with all sister agencies to achieve the desired peace within and around the FCT.
