Meskel, the Finding of the True Cross, was enthusiastically celebrated across the country today, September 27.
In the celebration held in Bahti Meskerem in which Ministers, senior Government and PFDJ officials, members of the Diplomatic Corps and numerous faithful participated, the prayer service presided over by His Holiness Abune Qerlos, V Patriarch of the Orthodox Tewahdo Church of Eritrea was conducted followed by religious hymns around the Damera torch.
On the occasion, Memhir Simon Beyene provided information on the historical background of Meskel Holiday and wished Happy Holidays to the Eritrean people in general and to the faithful in particular.
Sunday school youth also performed religious songs that represented the occasion.
