Eintracht Frankfurt held to 1-1 draw by VfL Bochum in Bundesliga match
Bochum’s early lead
Eintracht Frankfurt’s hopes of landing a top-four spot in the Bundesliga took another hit after being held to a 1-1 home draw by VfL Bochum. Bochum’s Takuma Asano opened the scoring in the 13th minute after Eintracht’s Kevin Trapp saved a shot from Anthony Losilla, only for Asano to follow up with a goal from close range.
Eintracht’s equalizer
Eintracht’s Randal Kolo Muani leveled proceedings eight minutes later, scoring from the spot after being fouled by Bochum’s Ivan Ordets. Muani’s goal was his 12th in the Bundesliga, making him one of only five players in Europe’s top five leagues with double-digit goals and assists.
Eintracht’s missed opportunities
Despite dominating possession and having 20 attempts on goal compared to Bochum’s seven, Eintracht could not find the finishing touch needed to win the match. The draw extends their winless run to seven games in all competitions, leaving them six on the table with 41 points, five points behind Freiburg in fourth.
Dropping zone escape for Bochum
Bochum, who won their last two matches against Cologne and RB Leipzig, claimed a valuable point to move out of the relegation zone and into 14th place on the table with 26 points. They will look to build on this result when they face Borussia Monchengladbach in their next match.
