Eid-el-Kabir: FRSC deploys 311 people in Borno

By Yakubu Uba

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Borno Command said it has deployed 311 personnel on a special patrol to ensure smooth traffic flow during this year’s Eid al-Kabir celebration in the State.

Sector Commander Ibrahim Sanusi told the Nigerian News Agency (NAN) on Sunday in Maiduguri.

Sanusi said the staff included 68 officers and 243 marshals.

“About 57 Special Marshals are also involved in the deployment,” Sanusi said.

The sector commander explained that the special patrol during the holiday season is to ensure free movement and traffic violations in major cities, especially Maiduguri.

He said the corps would partner with other security agencies in the frontline state.

“Our enforcement objectives include controlling speeding and dangerous driving, indiscipline / traffic violations, overloading, rickety vehicles, illegal use of SPY license plates,

“Drunk driving, seat belt / child restraint offenders, and enforcement of the COVID-19 Protection Act 2021,” Sanusi said.

According to him, all regular and special marshals involved in the patrol have been made aware of the need to be friendly, firm and courteous when dealing with the public in the performance of their duties.

While wishing the public a happy birthday, the sector commander requested the support and cooperation of the corps and security agencies. (NAN) ()
