Remember, Eid al-Adha dey celebrate the spirit of sacrifice and unity. Na for when Ibrahim almost sacrifice him son Ishmael for God, but God gree say him fit keep the boy. Na memory wey give hope to many, especially in a time wey everywhere dey scatter and plenty wahala dey happen.
About 5,000 worshippers dey expected to pack themselves for the West Park event, wey dey happen for the fifth time. All thanks to Jaamia Masjid Aqsa for putting things together. The event go start full ground with speeches from 10:00 BST – na serious matter!
Councillor Sohail Khan dey run the show and him talk say, “We live in a very polarised society…but this one go unite us under one common theme.” E no matter if you no be Muslim, e still dey open for everybody. Na community wey dey gather, and as dem say, “No wahala, just bring your good vibes.”
This year’s celebration na the third time dem dey run inside West Park, and last year, about 5,000 people join for kind heart of prayer, faith and reflection. Na serious gathering wey dey build compassion and love in community, show say we fit stand together, no matter our background.
For those wey wan attend, the gates go open by 9am, with main prayers and speeches starting by 10:30am. Just make sure say you bring your prayer mat, water bottle, and if you fit waka come or share car, e go make sense pass to avoid traffic wahala. Dem don also reason say if the rain no gree hold on, everybody go find shelter inside the mosque.
