The Police in Adamawa on Friday assured residents of adequate security of lives and property as Muslims prepare for Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
Adeyanju congratulated the Muslim Ummah for successfully concluding the Ramadan fast and urged the public to observe and comply with all COVID-19 preventive measures.
“The CP assured the state of adequate security during and after the Eid el-Fitr celebrations.
” The proactive and robust anti-crime measures, including the deployment of Surveillance and Intelligence assets of the Force, are already in place to prevent any untoward incidents in the State ” Adeyanju said.
He reminded residents of the COVID-19 prevention regulations, especially the inter-state movement restriction orders and national curfew.
He noted that the Police would not relent in enforcing all government orders toward curtailing the spread of COVID-19 and urged residents to bear in mind the unusual time in view of the dangerous nature of the virus.
The Federal Government had declared May 25 and May 26 as public holidays to mark the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
The government, however, advised
Muslims in the country to celebrate at home and avoid public gatherings as directed by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs to curtail the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
