Abuja, Nigeria – Panic don grip African Democratic Congress (ADC) as Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) dey focus their spotlight on important members wey dey part of the 2027 coalition. Dem dey work hard to take down President Bola Tinubu for the next election. This wahala start when dem interrogate former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, on Monday over wetin dem call fraudulent cash withdrawals wey reach N189 billion.
Tambuwal, who don serve as governor from 2015 to 2023, land EFCC headquarters for Abuja around 11:30am before dem carry am enter dey ask question. EFCC insiders talk say this withdrawal dey violate Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act of 2022. Tori wey we hear go like say, “Aminu Tambuwal dey suffer for N189 billion wey dem dey claim him withdraw wrongly.” Na wetin one official talk while others no fit show their face.
When we contact EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, he no wan answer any question but ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, confirm to The PUNCH say three former governors wey dey part of their coalition don receive public invitations from EFCC. Abdullahi no fit give names but him talk say dis move na attempt to scare dem away or make dem no participate!
“Na politician show of power be this o, and we dey determined to save Nigeria,” Abdullahi talk as he dey speak for his party.
EFCC no wan hear wetin ADC dey talk as dem deny any accusation dey claim they be political weapon for APC. Dem insist say if opposition members do any wahala, dem need to face the law like anybody else. But ADC no wan gree, dem talk say selective prosecuting fit spoil the fight against corruption.
“People don dey believe say your guilty or innocent depend on the party wey you belong to, not on the evidence. Like since one former governor jump enter APC, EFCC no dey ask am anything while dem dey reopen case for opposition leaders,” dem dey complain.
Meanwhile, many topside for ADC don dey separate themselves from the coalition. Just few weeks ago, Tanko Yunusa, wey dey coordinate Obidient Movement, accuse ADC say dem dey marginalize members wey suppose dey in charge. He say no Peter Obi loyalist dey fit make decision as dem dey leave dem outside major discussions.
Not only that, Ambode wey don serve for Lagos State, they show support for APC and Bola Tinubu re-election, rubbishing rumors say he dey eye governorship under ADC. He don clear say na false publication dey disturb him soldiers.
Even Atiku Abubakar don delay his plans to move to ADC as rumour dey fly say Goodluck Jonathan fit enter the 2027 race as well. Atiku don clear say he still dey here under PDP before all these gists start.
All these wahala dey complex things for ADC’s coalition as them dey try navigate EFCC wahala and internal squabbles. Without fixing those issues, e fit hard for dem to oppose APC come 2027 elections. No be small matter o!
