Education: Kwara district head solicits infrastructure for new school

  Alhaji Suleiman Oba Daudu the District Head of Aawe in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara has appealed to the state government to provide basic infrastructure at the newly constructed secondary school in the community The traditional ruler made the call on Thursday during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria NAN in Aawe According to him it is the provision of needed facilities that can make teaching and learning more conducive for both teachers and students in the school Oba Daudu expressed happiness over the construction of the school saying it will serve the host community and other surrounding villages in the area He commended the foresight of Gov AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the state Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB Prof Shehu Adaramaja for embarking on the project Oba Daudu however lamented that the students and teachers are still conducting lessons under trees with mats and on the floor in the newly constructed classrooms My people and l are extremely happy and grateful to the governor over the construction of the secondary school which we have been yearning for decades ago he said The district head also lauded the governor for restoring electricity to the community after seven years of blackout following vandalism of transformer and electric cables serving the area He similarly thanked AbdulRazaq for the provision of potable water in the community which has not being in existence since the creation of the community Oba Daudu however begged for the construction of the only road leading to Aawe from llorin Alapa highway to further improve the socio economic development of the community NewsSourceCredit NAN
