Marutlulle is not new to the Currie Cup coaching team, as he formerly served as an assistant coach during the 2022 campaign.

He will be supported by Gert Smal, Hugo van As, and Sean Everitt.

The Pukke alumni will lead the defending champions, the Vodacom Bulls, during their first game against the Pumas on March 12 at Loftus Versfeld.

Marutlulle regards this opportunity as once-in-a-lifetime and hopes to add another title to the team’s history of success.

He is known for his ability to connect with and understand players as he has worked his way up the ladder in South African rugby.

Additionally, Marutlulle expressed excitement about working with the team of world-class coaches at Loftus.

The Vodacom Bulls Director of Rugby, Jake White, said that they are proud of Marutlulle’s investment in becoming the top young rugby mind and that he brings invaluable dynamic experience as a player and coach to the team.
