Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NNA) Chairman of the Council, Dr Adamu Yunusa, urged Nigerians, irrespective of their religious affiliations, to pray for the peace and development of the country.
Yunusa, who is also the Emir of Abaji, said that peace is fundamental to the development of the country.
“My advice to all Muslims and Christians in this country is that they should continue to pray for the country for peace and security to reign.
“We should work together with understanding to make sure that we have peace and progress in this country.
“I pray that God will spare our lives to witness the 2023 Democracy Day celebrations,’’ Yunusa said.
He commended the Federal Government and the FCT administration for prioritising the concerns of traditional rulers and those of FCT residents and urged them to do more.
He also urged government to tackle unemployment more vigorously.
“Many youths are jobless. We appeal to government for more interventions to engage them before they engage us,’’ he said.
The traditional ruler urged Nigerians, especially FCT residents to allow peace to reign at the 2023 general elections.
Commending the peaceful conduct of political parties’ primary elections, Yunusa urged Nigerians to sustain the approach at the 2023 general elections.
