One dead after avalanche hits Russian ski resort
One person died, and four others injured on Monday after an avalanche hit a ski resort in Russia’s Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia in the North Caucasus, the TASS news agency reported.
Six individuals have been rescued, the report said.
About 233 rescuers are currently working at the site, TASS said, adding that the rescue operations have been hampered by bad weather conditions.
Two ski equipment rental points were reportedly covered by the avalanche and a cafe was damaged. Four to 12 people could be there when the avalanche came down.
