CSOs, Plateau Govt, eulogise Madaki, deceased high court judge

Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) under the aegis of Plateau Peace Practioners Network (PPPN) have eulogised late Justice Ladi Madaki, a High Court Judge in Plateau.
She died on Aug. 6 after her elevation to the position on July 13.
The different groups reeled out eulogies at a night of tribute organised for the deceased justice on Friday in Jos.
Jacob Pwakim
Speaking at the event, Mr Jacob Pwakim, the Chiarman of PPPN, said that the late justice was a pillar of support to all CSOs in the state.
Executive Director
Pwakim, who is also the Executive Director, Youth Initiative Against Violence and Human Rights Abuse (YIAVHA), said that the deceased had impacted positively in the lifespan of many organisations in the state, particularly those promoting peace and the rights of girls and women.
Late Jistice Ladi Madaki
”Late Jistice Ladi Madaki was a woman with the heart of gold, she had her signature in the life of most CSOs in this state.
Memorandum of Understanding
”She was the legal adviser of PPPN and was instrumental to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that is guiding the operation of the network.
”She was fearless, objective and was never desperate in life; she was a very patient and peaceful person.
She will really be missed
”So, as a network, we decided to put this event together to pay tributes and pray for the reposed of her soul,”he said.
Miss Chundung Sheku
Miss Chundung Sheku of YIAVHA, described the deceased as a ”colossus”, adding that she was always available to support issues of peace and human rights.
Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of YIAVHA
”She was the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of YIAVHA, we are glad to say that her contributions account for the growth of our organisation.
”Her motherly concerns, love and guidance shall remain an inspiration to the organisation and she was not just a chairperson of the board in name but she was a rallying point for us,”she said
Hajiya Fatima Suliaman of the Women Peace and Security Network
To Hajiya Fatima Suliaman of the Women Peace and Security Network, the deceased had left huge vacuum that would not be filled anytime soon.
She said that the late high court judge was instrumental to the establishment of the newtwork in 2014, adding that she was always available for others.
”She created a lot of documents on peace and she had time for issues around peace building.
” she said.
Grace Pam
Mrs Grace Pam, the Coordinator of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Plateau, described the deceased as a hardworking, accessible, intelligent and approachable personality.
Nafisa Lawal
Justice Nafisa Lawal, described deceased as one who had deep passion for her job, adding that her life depicted peace and service to humanity.
”Let us draw lessons from the beautiful legacies she left for us to emulate,” Lawal advised.
Plateua Government
Speaking on behalf Plateua Government, Mr Irimiya Werr, the Commissioner for Special Duties, thanked PPPN for organising the event in honour of the late justice.
He said that the state government was saddened by the demise of justice Madaki and described it as a ”huge lost” to the state.
