“Foreign countries will also have the opportunity to showcase their creative sector during CIFEST,” he said.

Also speaking, the Lagos Operations Chief, Mr. Ephraim Sheyin, praised the CIG delegation for the visit and said he would support their aspirations.

He advised the group to encourage industry stakeholders to project positive aspects of Nigeria, rather than exaggerate negative developments in the country.

“It is unfortunate that most of our Nigerian films tend to cast citizens as ritualists, criminals or wife beaters.

“Clearly, this is not always true. We have positive aspects of life that must be projected and the industry has what it takes to achieve it.

“We will do our best to encourage your group in projecting our country in a good light and as good people with an attractive culture and lifestyle,” he said.

According to Sheyin, he has an open-door policy to any group dedicated to improving Nigeria’s image in the world.

reports that the CIG team included popular actor Emeka Ossai, Ms. Capriz Duke, and others, while the team included Alh. Abdulfatai Babatunde, Managing Editor, and Mr. Joseph Idika, Head of Entertainment.
