CP interacts with Enugu communities to checkmate crime

 The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State Mr Ahmed Ammani has interacted with members of different communities on how to effectively checkmate crime and criminality in the state The commissioner interacted with members and security stakeholders from different communities in Ezeagu Local Government Area and 9th Mile community of Udi local area This is contained in a statement issued by the state Police Public Relations Officer DSP Daniel Ndukwe on Sunday The commissioner in the two series of meetings held on Sept 17 specifically interacted on ways of tackling existing and emerging security challenges in the communities These meetings are pursuant of the Inspector General of Police s policing vision and mission especially as it concerns giving full effect to the concept of community policing and delivering of quality police services The meeting highlighted and brainstormed on a number of security issues in Ezeagu council area including induced situations He dwelt on the viral video of a prophesy suggesting the attack and massacre of villagers in Ezeagu council area by terrorists said to have caused panic among the people The incidents of kidnapping in 9th Mile community of Udi council area amongst other issues he said The commissioner addressing the stakeholders of Ezeagu council area led by the Chairman of Ezeagu council Chief Chukwudi Ozoeluba also reiterated the resolve of the police to ensure optimal security and safety of citizens of the communities The state police boss charged them to be security conscious and believe in Almighty God in view of the said prophecy as God was the ultimate source of peace and protector of mankind Responding the stakeholders commended the commissioner for bringing them together to discuss issues of security in their communities while assuring him of support to the police The commissioner was joined in the meeting by the Command s management team and other senior police officers including Divisional Police Officers of the concerned council areas and communities The stakeholders were drawn from the traditional rulers of the areas led by Igwe Lawrence Agubuzu the traditional ruler of Eziama Olo Kingdom in Ezeagu council area Others included Presidents General of towns unions Police Community Relations Committee PCRC members leaders of Neighborhood Watch security support groups as well as the Hausa and Fulani communities Also in attendance was gwe Emmanuel Ugwu the traditional ruler of Ibagwa Nike Kingdom and the Chairman of Enugu State Security and Peace Committee NewsSourceCredit NAN

Divisional Police Officers

The commissioner was joined in the meeting by the Command’s management team and other senior police officers, including Divisional Police Officers of the concerned council areas and communities.
 

Igwe Lawrence Agubuzu

The stakeholders were drawn from the traditional rulers of the areas, led by Igwe Lawrence Agubuzu, the traditional ruler of Eziama-Olo Kingdom in Ezeagu council area.
 

Police Community Relations Committee

Others included Presidents-General of towns unions, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) members, leaders of Neighborhood Watch, security support groups, as well as the Hausa and Fulani communities.
 

Emmanuel Ugwu

Also in attendance was Ígwe Emmanuel Ugwu, the traditional ruler of Ibagwa-Nike Kingdom and the Chairman of Enugu State Security and Peace Committee.
