COVID-19: The Foundation works for the security of Hajj and Umrah

The World Hajj and Umrah Care Foundation (WHUCF) is working with over 200 institutions and partners for a new security mechanism through the implementation of the Hajj and Umrah Safe Corridor program.

This mechanism would be installed in 25 countries around the world to ensure the health and safety of pilgrims in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pilgrimage for Hajj and Umrah had been severely restricted in the past two years since the outbreak of the pandemic in 2019.

A statement from Mohsin Tutla, president of WHUCF, said it was a huge effort to help rejuvenate the process of reclaiming the Hajj and Umrah area.

He said the organization had developed new initiatives to educate and retrain industry professionals, developing packages suitable for pandemic pilgrimages and introducing vigilance technologies to maintain high standards of health protocols. .

“The sequential dismantling of the performance capacities of the international Hajj and Umrah companies is the result of a lack of information, of strategic leadership both at home and in Saudi Arabia and of the inert inability of organizations to determine them. even the best course of action to protect their finances and resources.

“Over the decades, Hajj and Umrah companies working with their Saudi counterparts have perfected the art of meeting the requirements of regulations issued by Saudi Arabia and their own governments, when preparing for the pilgrimage, this seamless synchronization has been disrupted by the pandemic.

“This change has recalibrated the landscape on how Hajj and Umrah are planned and how services are to be delivered. Where the international community listened to the instructions of the ministry of Hajj and Umrah, it began to monitor the inclinations of the Saudi ministry of health.

Tutla said WHUCF would be positioned to serve all categories of pilgrims from around the world with the new mechanism and the trainings given to members to harness the challenges of the pandemic.

He said technology and innovation would be deployed appropriately for this, adding that it would allow members to recoup their financial losses.

He also added that the organization would be proactive in rendering services to waiting and willing Muslim worshipers who have money or have saved up for the religious rites of Hajj and Umrah over the years.

He said the foundation has set up a website for easy access to pilgrims and tour operators, as well as a starting point for creating the Hajj with technical support. (NOPE)
