COVID-19: Stay at home, sanitise your environment – Commissioner urges Kaduna residents

 Kaduna State Ministry for Environment and NaturalResources has called on residents to take advantage of stay at home order to sanitize their environments to prevent spread of COVID 19pandemic Alhaji Ibrahim Husseini Commissioner for Environment made the call while briefing newsmen on Thursday in Kaduna Husseini said proactive measures needed to be taken to prevent spreadof the virus as the state was yet to record any confirm case According to him COVID 19 which is a global pandemic has a serious and devastating effect as Nigeria happens to be one of the countries with some recorded cases of the pandemic People should use the opportunity of the stay at home to clean their environments especially the gutters practice hand washing frequently and use face mask as precautionary measures to stay healthy Gov Nasir El Rufai being a proactive leader was the first in the nation to announce some proactive measures which are drastic and will be effective when adhered to in ensuring that the virus does not come to thestate By shutting down some commercial places which are non essential closing all schools a stay at home order to workers from Grade levels1 to12 including public gatherings and worship places He also constituted different committees to ensure strict compliance This shows that even if the virus were to be inthe state it will be controlled immediately hesaid Ibrahim however advised peopletoaccept that Coronavirus is real and it exists saying it is necessary to re emphasise the reality of the disease because a lot of people still do not believe that the virus is real I therefore call for improved sanitation in our environments because we need to make sure they are kept clean not forgetting personal hygiene which is also very essential With exception to world war I and II the world has not witnessed anything as terrible as the Coronavirus the world has come to a standstill due to the pandemic If need be the ministry will fumigate the entire state to aid curtailing the COVID 19 pandemic he added Edited By Olawunmi Ashafa Rabiu Sani Ali NAN
