COVID-19: NIgeria registers 184 new cases, 32 discharges – NCDC

The Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) said the country had recorded 184 additional COVID-19 infections as of July 22.

The NCDC made this known on its website on Friday morning.

The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that the new infections indicate a decrease from the 238 cases announced the day before.

He said the additional 184 new cases were reported in seven states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

“Lagos State, where the majority of cases were selected on Thursday, reported 124, Rivers registered 27, Sokoto reported 9; while the FCT and Oyo recorded 8 and 6 each.

“Among others, there was; Ekiti announced 5, Delta reported 4, while Plateau recorded 1, ”NCDC said.

He noted that Wednesday’s report did not include any cases in Rivers, Osun, Ondo, Sokoto, Kaduna, Kano and Nasarawa states.

The NCDC noted that confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country are now 170,306 as of July 22.

The public health agency said the country’s active cases stood at more than 3,000, as of July 22.

He said 31 people who had recovered from the disease had been released from isolation centers across the country.

The public health agency added that to date, 164,772 recoveries have been recorded nationwide in 36 states and the FCT.

The agency said the country has also tested more than 2.4 million samples for the virus from its 200 million people.

He added that a multisectoral National Emergency Operations Center (COU), activated at level 2, continued to coordinate national response activities. (NAA)
