The Journalist International Forum for Migration (JIFORM), on Sunday, prayed for quick recovery of the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mr Muhammad Babandede, who has tested positive for Coronavirus.
The Nigeria News Agency reports that the Spokesman of NIS, Mr Sunday James, had disclosed Babandede’s health status in an earlier statement.
James, in the statement, had said that the COVID-19 test came positive and that the comptroller-general had been observing self-isolation upon his return from the United Kingdom.
The Nigeria News Agency reports that the prayer session was led online by the association’s President, Mr Jibola Abayomi, after the news broke out that Babandede had tested positive for COVID-19.
“At the moment, our hearts are with Babandede. We wish him quick recovery.
“He is very hard working and totally committed to overhauling the NIS, which was applauded by both local and international communities,” the forum said.
The forum, however, prayed fervently against the spread of the deadly disease in NIS and the country at large.
“We also pray for the quick recovery of all other infected citizens.
“We prayed to God to give Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), all the health practitioners involved in the fight against the virus and the Federal Government the capability to win the fight,” the forum said.
