Court remands 2 friends for allegedly threatening to deal with a politician

 A Shari a Court sitting in Kano on Thursday ordered that two men be remanded in a correction centre for allegedly threatening to deal with a politician The police charged Salisu Ibrahim and Izzadin Ahmed who reside in Gwammaja Quarters in Kano with three counts of criminal conspiracy criminal intimidation and mischief The presiding judge Malam Nura Yusuf Ahmad adjourned the matter until Oct 17 Earlier the Prosecution Counsel Mr Aliyu Abideen informed the court that the defendants committed the offence on Sept 12 at Gwammaja Quarters Kano He alleged that at about 10 p m the defendants conspired and went to the house of Alhaji Yahaya Garin Ali a politician and threatened to deal with him The defendants he said also stoned and destroyed the glass window of the complainant s house The first defendant Ibrahim pleaded guilty to the charge adding that the politician refused to fulfil the promises he made to him The second defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge The prosecution said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 120 227 and 363 of Kano State Shari a Law NewsSourceCredit NAN
