As di matter dey go, di counsel for ABU, Mr. Musa, stand up on behalf of him clients, beg di court say make dem accept dia fresh evidence, but di court, led by Justice OO Oyewunmi, no gree. You fit imagine say na only small requirements wey dem no meet to convince di court. E no sweet dem at all.
Di court sabi say sometimes, if e get certain scenarios, e fit allow fresh evidence, but dis one no be am. Na so di appeal waka comot, sharp sharp! Di substantive suit date still dey hang, no be today dem go fix am.
Make we check small background: dem dismiss di appointment of di 110 staff in 1996, but di workers no carry dem matter go court until 2012 when dem see say di university no gree follow di recommendations wey plenty visitation panels don recommend. Na 2015 di court give di workers win, make dem carry dia N2.5 billion enter pocket, but dis money still dey play hide and seek with dem.
In 2017, di university dey run from di judge as dem try to stop di garnishee order wey dey target dia bank accounts. But instead of bowing to di law, dem file appeal for di Appeal Court in November 2018. But no fear, di Court of Appeal don put dem for di corner on May 24, 2021, wey confirm di earlier ruling. E be like say na standstill dem dey suffer for dia side.
Honestly, e don’t too much! Dem should just carry di money give di workers. Na wah for justice for Nigeria, abi wetin!
