Alhaji Danjuma Nalango, Chairman, Wushishi Local Government in Niger State, says the council is committed to providing basic amenities to improve the living standard of the people.
Nalango stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Wushishi.
“The Wushishi local government council is focused and ready to provide more basic social amenities to uplift the living standards of our people,” he said.
The council chairman said that his administration had embarked on the rehabilitation of 12kilometres Akare to Tukunji, and 10km Lemu to Zungeru feeder roads as well as provision of portable water through the sinking of new boreholes and reactivation of old ones.
According to him, the council had procured transformers and other electrical installations to ensure regular power supply to Zungeru and Wushishi.
He also said that the agricultural sector was not left out as the council recently procured and distributed three tonnes of assorted fertilizers to farmers in the area at subsidised rate.
He explained that the various projects and intervetions were geared towards improving the socio-economic wellbeing of the people.
Nalango urged youths in the area to shun acts inimical to the development of the local government.
He also solicited for support to enable his administration succeed in delivery good governance to the people of the area.
