The Chairman of the council, Mr Saidu Kurki, disclosed made this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Garaku, headquarter of the LGA.

Kurki said that the provision of the boreholes was targeted at solving the problems of water scarcity and improving on the standard of living of the people of the area.

“My administration has sunk 12 boreholes in the 11 wards of this local government area.

“This is to reduce the problem of water scarcity and improve the standard of living of our people.

“As ‘he who provides water provides life’ and as human being, we cannot sustain our lives without water,’’ he said.

The chairman added that his administration also rehabilitated some roads and drainages in order to prevent flooding when it rains.

“All these infrastructures were meant to improve on the health, socio-economic activities and the standard of living of our people.’’

“We are grateful to our governor, Abdullahi Sule, for granting financial autonomy to the local government council to ensure speedy development at the grassroots.

Kurki, however, assured of his continued determination to key into good policies and programmes that would have direct bearing on the lives of the people and the state at large.
