Coronavirus: WHO Ghana supports ongoing deployment of COVID-19 vaccine with digital tablets

With financial support from the Government of Canada, WHO Ghana plans to present 500 additional digital tablets to the Ghana health service

The World Health Organization has reiterated its commitment to help the Government of Ghana meet its COVID-19 vaccine deployment target by presenting 1,000 digital tablets to support the ongoing vaccination campaign.

Presenting the articles to the Ghana Health Service, Dr Sally-Ann Ohene, head of disease prevention and control at the World Health Organization country office in Ghana, said the tablets should be used for step up electronic registration in the various vaccination centers and help reduce delays. in data entry.

“With financial support from the Government of Canada, WHO Ghana plans to present an additional 500 digital tablets to the Ghana health service,” Dr Ohene suggested. The Director of the Ghana Health Service’s Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), Dr Kwame Amponsa-Achiano, who received the items on behalf of the Ghana Health Service, expressed his gratitude for the kind gesture.

Dr Amponsa-Achiano said the donation of the tablets was very timely and they would be immediately deployed to the field for use in the ongoing vaccination campaign. Digital tablets are expected to be useful for data capture in other health interventions beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
