Coronavirus – Eritrea: Announcement from the Ministry of Health (23 January 2022)
ASMARA, Eritrea, January 23, 2022/APO Group/ —
Forty-seven patients have been diagnosed positive for COVID-19 in the tests carried out today at the Quarantine Centers and Testing Stations in the Central, Southern, Anseba and Gash Barka Regions.
Of these, thirty patients are from Test Stations in Asmara, Central Region. Eight patients are from Testing Stations in Mendefera (6), Tserona (1), and Emni-Haili (1); South region. Six patients are from the Quarantine Center in Keren (3) and Test Stations in Elaberet (2) and Adi-Tekelezan (1); Anseba region. Three patients are from Testing Station in Barentu, Gash Barka region.
On the other hand, fifty-seven patients who have been receiving medical treatment in hospitals in the Central Region have fully recovered and have been discharged from these facilities. Unfortunately, patients between the ages of 99 and 72 in the Central Region have died from the pandemic.
Consequently, the total number of recovered patients has risen to 8,712, while the number of deaths has risen to 93.
The total number of confirmed cases in the country to date has risen to 9,297.
