(Some peeps go say she don dey old, but na she still dey shine pass many today o!)
Her fans fit remember am well well for classics like “Stupid Cupid,” “Where the Boys Are,” and “Pretty Little Baby,” the song wey just went viral on TikTok. E no too sweet as we hear say she never talk the cause of her death.
Ron Roberts, wey no fit hide him sadness for Facebook, talk say, “I dey inform you with heavy heart say my dear friend Connie Francis don pass away last night.” (No be say dem no try, but sometimes e be like say age won’t gree. Una sabi how e be.) He also add say, “I sure say Connie go want her fans to know dis sad news first.”
Before she waka go, she dey hospital for some serious pain matter, but just few days ago, she post on Facebook say she dey feel beta after good night rest. Connie born as Concetta Franconero on December 12, 1937, for Newark, New Jersey. As small pikin, she don dey sing and perform for local talent shows, and her journey no be straight road at all. Her first singles fall flat like jollof wey no get taste when she sign with MGM Records in 1955. But na from this struggle, she pick up like phoenix from the ash when she drop “Who’s Sorry Now?” in 1958. (E be like say dem don forget say she fit sing well well.)
