Communiqué of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission on the Situation in Libya
1 The president of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, is following the situation in Libya with great attention.


3 The President expresses his firm support for the popular demands for their welfare and strongly maintains his ardent desire for a prompt end to the crisis that the country has been experiencing for more than a decade.

4 In this sense, it asks the legitimate popular movement to ensure respect for the integrity of all people and for public and private property.
5 On this occasion, it welcomes the support of the Libyan parties for the African Roadmap for Libyan National Reconciliation and their willingness to sign it, in accordance with the modalities that the African Delegation, under the auspices of the High-Level Committee on Libya, has been presented to you recently.
6 In this regard, the chairman of the African Union Commission highlights the inclusive nature of the reconciliation process and the need for the Libyan people to take ownership of it.
